Well at least you gave them the link for the Corvette so they wouldn't get confused as to what to get you.

My belief is that it's through the office, home and hospital visitations through the week that a pastor earns the right to be heard on Sunday morning and the related respect that goes with that. Those mid-week contacts also 'inform' his preaching. I don't think the general public in our town realizes the changes that would take place if the clergy just weren't there, though I realize there are some today who are questioning the historical notion of the 'clergy class.' Good for them! Maybe they'll motivate the rest of us to get doing the job we thought we had to pay a professional to do. But we do need overseers and teachers and apostles and they deserve both the pay and our respect.

The Lord will bless a church who blesses their pastor. "The elder who labors in the Word is worthy of double honor."

Great post. So needed.
